Feeling like you belong somewhere – it is a great feeling. I feel more motivated now that I feel like I’m doing something, that I’m a part of the company. That’s the best part of working with Remotely.

Andres is a full-stack developer based in Columbia who has been working with Remotely since the beginning of 2022.

The magic of Remotely: belonging and motivation

Remotely is a company that gets you a job in the U.S.A and they make some magic to get you working for the company directly. They don’t get in the way: you even negotiate your salary directly with the company.

For Andres, working with Remotely has given him a real sense of belonging and motivation. “Finally, I feel I’m working for the company I’m working with,” he explains.  You are not like an outsourcing asset: you are going to be working for the company like if you were an employee there. I really like that.”

From agency to “in-house” developer through Remotely

Before Remotely, Andres was a software engineer at Globant. He had spent three years working with Disney, maintaining the homepage and working with some proprietary software that they had projectors in their parks. He found himself with too much downtime at the agency. He wanted to be busy working with interesting projects and challenges, not getting rusty. Finding a new role at a startup where he could learn many different things and expand his knowledge was very appealing — and the reason he connected with Remotely.

What I really liked about Remotely is that they’re very sincere: they told me the salary range, they gave me a couple of choices of companies who were looking for software developers with my profile.

In less than three weeks, Andres had a new job.

Working as a full-stack developer in health tech

Andres is now working as a full-stack developer with Qventus, a health tech company building AI-based software for care operations automation for hospitals and health systems. He’s working on the team in charge of developing and maintaining their apps, and splits his time between backend and frontend development. “I really like that I’m learning a lot of React. “[Before Remotely] I didn't have a chance to work with React in a professional way, only with some app toys I developed before. I'm also working in Python, which I’m really comfortable working with.”

Andres explains that Qventus is a smaller company, and as a result, there is a lot of work to do. Andres is sharpening his skills every day through interesting challenges and feels a real sense of belonging and motivation. The shift from the agency to Remotely has helped Andres find a more fulfilling career path.
